Just spending time in the house and its garden is enjoyable in itself, but the desire to investigate “Il Sentiero del Viandante”, the ancient mule track, or one of the minor footpaths leading from it will soon become irresistable. One can stroll along the mountain-side terraces in the limpid morning light or during the hazy afternoon, bewitched by unexpected openings in the woods and walking through the charming hamlets nearby. The spectacular panorama which includes Bellagio and the Como branch of the lake transforms constantly as one proceeds.

Pendaglio, Verginate, Ronchi and Grabbia and, even farther up the mountain side, Noceno or L’Alpe del Pezzino can be visited, some taking from an hour and others a whole afternoon to reach.
Apart from exploring the villages around Oro, one can visit Bellano and the towns and villages along the lakeside such as Varenna and Corenno Plinio or go on a boat trip on the lake or an excursion in the mountains.
